If you’re just tuning in…
We are in the midst of me trying to catch this blog up on the last 4-5 weeks! Stay tuned 🙂
A happy birthday message to your friend Sammy.
Puzzle skills
Xol! We’ve been doing puzzles for a while now, but early on you showed little interest and when you did, you were content to let me do it. Today you actually assembled (half) of a lenticular (ups the difficulty factor) puzzle by yourself!!! I’m so proud of you. I love the way you try so hard to do everything yourself 😉

Potty training
You were doing popos yesterday and you said “I did popos!” I said “that’s great mija!” You said “I want to do more popos”. So you did. When you were finished you said, “look mom! They’re snuggling!” I asked who and you said, “the popos!” You are the only one who could make popos sound so sweet!!!! LOVE YOU XOL.
Lagging
Summer has been such fun it’s been hard to keep the blog current on a daily basis, but I will try to get us back up to speed soon. Pop just came home after a 6 week tour. It’s his first day back. I don’t suppose this will create any more free time for me, but it’s on the to do list. Updating pics, chronicling our trip to Carlsbad/ Legoland, etc. All on deck! Love you mama.
Potty training
About a month after your 2nd bday you decided to start potty training yourself. I say that you were potty training yourself because you took your own diaper off and sat on the potty and asked for a book. You knew just what your game plan was. You did po-pos the first time you sat yourself down. When you were 12 months, just after you started walking steadily, I tried to start the potty training process. You pee-peed in the potty every time I sat you down. We did that several times before you just decided (out of nowhere) that you didn’t want to potty train anymore. I never pushed it. I decided that whenever you decided to potty train (at 18 months or 18 years!), that would be the perfect time for you! So, here we are. A whole new set of struggles. You are doing really well at it, but you’re by no means a pro less than a week later. Thus the struggles. You think you’re an expert and you want to sleep without a diaper. I have let you try twice and of course you pee-peed in the bed. That hasnt seemed to deter your desire to sleep as naked as the day you were born. So…the struggle continues. None of it is bothersome to me EXCEPT your unwavering insistence to sleep without a diaper before you’re ready. God help us both. (Haha! and I wonder how you came out so dramatic!)
Beach. Bikes. Bloodline.
