Post surgery perks

You loved the ice- cream- as- medicine concept of post op. Thanks to God for a smooth surgery! You experienced a rough recovery for the first week (mood swings, clinginess, fever, sleeplessness) but you made it through like the shining sun! God is great.

Perks of surgery

I may have mentioned that we saw an ENT for your sleep apnea and chronic congestion before. Well, the adenoid surgery the was scheduled to address these problems was a difficult pill for mom and pop to swallow but it was never a question. It had to be done. You needed it to achieve optimal health. Nothing more important. So we jumped in…but not before taking you to your fave restaurant to load you up on French fries, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, chocolate milk and red velvet cupcake. With your hefty appetite and my strict diet for you, I couldn’t bear the thought of you having to exist on bland soft foods for 2 weeks. So I let you live it up! You took one bite of the cheeseburger and gave it a thumbs down. You didn’t finish any of it, but you enjoyed it!

Imaginative surprises

Frequently I find rocks gathered under a chair or bracelets decorating the water dispenser or in this case, a tower of shoe boxes in my closet with Woody laying at the top of the pile. The discoveries always have an imaginative and totally practical reason for being. This tower was built to protect Woody from the dragon in my closet. Of course!

Baby Buddha

While at the zoo, we came upon this board of interesting animals facts. You lift the little doors and it gives you animal trivia facts. So, you asked me to read you the info. As I finished the first couple of facts, you say to me, “I know mom. I’m teaching you.”

Zoo-ology

We took some time to scope out America’s Teaching Zoo today. You loved it, so we decided to have your birthday party here this year! Stay tuned for that!
