It occurred to me you may not even know what a typical day looks like for you. So, I will give you a rundown of today as an example! Of course all points will not be true for everyday, but you’ll catch my drift. Pop is out of town doing a concert in Denver. You woke up at 7:45a and after a morning nursing session, you wanted to watch an episode of (your fave) Mickey’s Clubhouse. Papo and Tata stayed the night last night because I worked yesterday, so we got to say bye to Tata in the morning before we had breakfast. You didn’t want her to leave, but you don’t usually make a fuss about it. We went down for breakfast and you wanted (your fave) organic oatmeal and strawberries! You also had an egg and a few bites of my “pan” with a tall glass of water. Before we eat, we always say the shortest prayer I know since your attention span (especially when you’re hungry, is short!), God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for this food. Since we started praying (@6 months old, I always said Amen and pushed both my hands in the air like I’m raising the roof! Its just a fun twist. Anyway, you do it too! After breakfast we went upstairs and read a couple of books before getting ready for the day. I usually pick two outfits I like and let you choose, but some days you won’t and other days you pick your own all together. Today it was a Hawaiian print dress and jeweled sandals with a turquoise hair bow. You fussed a bit because you couldn’t decide if you wanted a morning nap or not. After an hour of you whining and getting in and out of bed, I decided we were through and going to start the day. It was already almost noon. Then we went to the mall to make some returns, buy 2 birthday presents, cash in on a free panty for mom, and get a thank you note/gift for our neighbor (she made us a flan for Easter). After our first stop was done, we went to have lunch and you wanted to sit in a booster seat, so I let you. You ate all your steamed carrots and only 1/4 of your grilled cheese because you had an organic fruit snack bar (your fave), sippy cup full of water, and some organic baked bunny snacks before we even made it to lunch. You also had a lil bit of OJ. While we were there, you insisted on seeing a pic of Yana, so I had to text and ask her for one. You loved it! Afterwards, we finished up our errands at the mall and stopped to have frozen yogurt (you used to call it fried yogurt, but you got it right now) in the ice cream shop. We got home, drank some water, grabbed your sun hat, and put sunscreen on the rest of your body (we did round one in the AM). We went outside to build “sandcastles”. That’s what you call it when we play with your sand and water activity table! We ran around the back yard for a while and then went across the street in your motorized car to drop off the thank you note and gift for our nice neighbor. Then we came upstairs and got our toys and clothes ready for your first time in mom’s (ginormous) bath tub! We put lots of bubble bath in that tub and we jumped in together. We went “fishing” and made bubble hair styles. You refused to get out for a while so I took that opportunity to get myself ready for bed (keeping you in eye sight). You were finally done when you slipped and your face caught some water and bubbles! It was a minor snag in a great experience. As soon as you got out you were asking for mimis. We dried your hair (with a towel; you’re scared of the dryer) and put your fave Minnie pjs on. We said the Angel de mi guarda prayer (you really have taken a liking to this one) and you nursed to sleep in minutes (@8:20p, a lil later than usual). That was how you spent this day. April 20, 2012. Like your dad’s homie Ice Cube says. “Today was a good day!” I love you mamita. “Noches”….
