14 months old

Xol is 14 months old today. The time is passing too quickly, but I am enjoying every minute. I do things other people, other mothers, and books say I shouldn’t do all the time. They only say that because it takes more work and in this egocentric society we are always looking for ways to make things easier for “ME”. Well, I’m not buying. Not when it comes to being Xol’s mom. I can take the back seat for now and I will love every second of it. So, ive always used a baby carrier vs a stroller, she takes naps with me and sleeps in my bed and nurses to sleep and doesn’t watch tv. May look like more work but I guess that depends on your perspective. I’m a lucky woman to be able to spend so much time with my baby and I take advantage of it. So there! Haha. Anyhow, Xol knows English, Spanish, and American sign language. She understands the concept of “nice” and demonstrates it very readily. She walks without holding on but looks like a drunkard while doing it. She just learned how to turn and likes to walk in circles sometimes. She loves to show love but she still has reservations about some people. She commands all your attention and makes no apologies for it. She is a culinary snob and loves the most way out food. Healthy and spicy is how she likes it. She just started stringing words together and can say..”Go. Car.” When she wants to leave the house..and that’s often. She likes to be out and about. Xol loves spending time with her dad and her abuelitos Gil de Montes. She also has a new favorite, her tia Eli! She LOVES music and calls it “Ca”. She prefers musica Latina!! So funny. She holds her hand up in the air when she dances and that is also her own sign for music. Ahhh, I could go on, and I will, but in increments. Xol is a dream. My bestie por vida. Who woulda thunk I’d be so under motherhood’s spell?? Xol. That’s who.
